Zionsville Candle Company Passes the Flame!
We wish to convey to you our excitement in passing the “flame” of Zionsville Candle Company on to new owners, the Stroud Family! In only two very short years, Marnie and I realized that our fledgling company had started to exceed our skill level for what it takes to run a production oriented business. Instead of suffering from “owner’s syndrome,” we quickly decided to search for a new owner who is versed in the production skills that Zionsville Candle Company needs to continue its growth!
Upon spreading the word that we were looking for new owners, Roy and his wife Charlene stepped forward. “We were looking for an opportunity worth pursuing, a product that promotes healthier living, while working in an industry that dealt with passionate customers, and we found it in Zionsville Candle Company” remarks Roy.
“I’ve always had a passion for crafts, and the idea of natural soy candles provides me with a great outlet for my creative side” comments Charlene Stroud.
The Stroud’s live in Hopewell Junction, New York. Relocating the business to New York should not be a problem, since Zionsville Candle Company has an international audience due to its strong internet presence.
I was not keen to selling Zionsville Candle Company to just any new entity. I was approached by several serious buyers who just didn’t “fit the mold,” (no pun intended.)
To succeed with Zionsville Candle Company, two VERY important criteria had to be met:
1) the new owners HAD to understand the importance of our “natural soy product,” and
2) the new owners HAD to understand the under-working of the the World Wide Web, which
has been vital to Zionsville Candle Company’s marketing presence. We have fantastic placement on Google, MSN, and other search engines.
When I received a phone call from Roy several months ago, I was very excited. Not only did he start to tell me about his desire to promote healthier style products to families, but he’s also one of the top internet experts in marketing. He has an international reputation for running ethical, top-ranking websites in very diverse markets. I was extremely motivated to hand over our company to someone who understands these two very core values.
First, soy candles are becoming incredibly popular. The searches on the internet are increasing exponentially. And second, I really wanted to find someone who understood internet marketing, so that they would continue what has enabled us to grow so fast.
“Charlene and I immediately ‘hit it off’ and I was instantly sold that they would not only continue our goal, but more importantly, with their strong production background, be able to improve on our systems,” remarks Marnie Anderson. “What is also very nice, is that Roy and Charlene wish to continue our ‘family business’ ideals to grow Zionsville Candle Company.
We’ve always had our whole family involved, and Roy and Charlene wish to continue this tradition. There’s nothing more frustrating than becoming a number.” mentions Marnie. I also wish to mention that Marnie and I will continue to be involved with the transition, and that my love for Zionsville Candle Company may continue.
Roy and I are becoming great friends, and we’re already discussing the potential for my being involved with future projects, which I would thoroughly enjoy. I was in the process of developing an all-natural line of lip balms and body sprays, which Roy has told me he would really like to promote! Marnie and I (and our family) wish to thank you for being a great customer, and the Stroud and Anderson family wish you the BEST!
